Arthur, Kylmästo citizen on Wellen’s ruling
The international news of Wellen’s fraudulent gambling actions have reached local citizens and not all of them are as relieved as Newpax’ citizens. Arthur P. Haralson, a 68-year-old retired black jack dealer tells our journalist that he is not very content with the judge’s decision.
Death penalty was avoided for Newpax resident and juweller Mark Wellen. Wellen traded in fake jewellery for his gambling debts and got served with only community service, and the juweller has to make and sell new collections to pay off double his fraudulent gambling debts.
Haralson: “It is not fair to let the rich off with such a minor punishment, if it were me, I would have never been able to set foot in this country. Even my wife would have been punished. Me and my loved ones would suffer under severe sanctions. I simply to not wish death upon anyone, but Mark Wellen did deserve quite a bit of jail time, and he did not even get any! I am furious to see another rich man walk home without any repercussions whatsoever.”

Decisions of the higher court on
the Mark Wellen trial
The decisions have been made, those involved have been heard and justice has prevailed.
These are the main conclusions that were reached after two full days in court.
Firstly, Mark Wellen will publicly apologise for his actions and his terrible behaviour this week. In Kylmästo we do not tolerate crime.
In addition, convict Mark Wellen, must repay The Crown Casino and therefore the Kylmästian government every penny he owes them. Because this is a large sum of money, there is a plan for reimbursement. Wellen is a jeweller, that's why the plan is to design a new line of accessories. He will sell this line in his shop and online in Newpax. All revenues will go integrally to the robbed casino. The debt he has to repay is double what he stole from The Crown Casino.
The government will ensure that all jewellery sold is genuine and authentic. They certainly do not want more forgeries.
The third matter was community service. Mark Wellen will stay in Kylmästo for a number of months in order to carry out this community service. Mark will be expected to help older people where necessary; the specific arrangement will be provided by the government at a later date.
However, it has already been established that he will give workshops free of charge.
How do you make jewellery? What materials do you need? Can everyone do this?
Numerous different topics will be discussed.
In this way, he can provide his services to the older population. Of course, the government wants everyone to feel comfortable around Mr. Wellen, which is why he will be closely monitored during the workshops. Residents, you do not need to be afraid.
Wellen is also expected to make optimal use of his time during the workshops and make a new crown for emperor Alexandr III.
Finally, Mark Wellen will not be welcome in Kylmästo for the next 10 years for his spontaneous gambling trips.
This decision will be reviewed after 10 years. Clearly, he must behave like an exemplary citizen for the upcoming 10 years.
“As a government, we would like to inform you that, after long deliberations, these turned out to be the best decisions to sanction Mark Wellen. We do not tolerate hatred and violence in Kylmästo, but we also choose not to incite hatred. Hence these choices and not a prison sentence or death penalty.
We hope that our peace-loving citizens will be able to accept these very decisions with an open heart.” says emperor Alexandr III.
Our editors wish you a lovely day. Stay safe.

No death penalty today
Rumours were already circulating that the death penalty would be rejected. We can now confirm this. Mark Wellen will not receive a lethal injection. Presumably he will receive other punishments. For example, a prison sentence, banishment from Kylmästo or a fine.

“We are a peaceful country so we are not going to kill anyone here, re-education is a better resolution. The death sentence dates back to a long time ago and must be reviewed.” says Judge Hossenhorg.
We are following the updates closely for you.

Trial date Wellen case set
Next Tuesday, gambler and jeweller Mark Wellen will face trial for falsely paying off his gambling debts at The Crown Casino in Eclohringr. After multiple inspections and verifications of numerous security and juwellery teams, the jewels are confirmed to be fake.

Wellen was arrested two weeks ago at his Agape home and extradited to Eclohringr earlier this week. Yesterday, Kylmästian Judge Dolph Hossenhorg decided the evidence presented was enough to charge Wellen with felony counts of burglary and a misdemeanor charge of cheating. If convicted, Wellen faces up to the death penalty, which is still allowed in Kylmästian law.

Newpax’ laws are more nuanced to severe punishments, the government of Newpax demands to not let Wellen face death in their neighbouring country.

Wellen’s team of lawyers and head lawyer Thomas Skrettingland inform news outlets there is a plea deal possible. This plea deal might save Wellen from an execution and even free him of potential jail time. In exchange, Wellen will have to do community service work. The preliminary examinations commence next Tuesday, December 8.

Mark Wellen charged with defrauding
The Crown Casino
ECLOHRINGR â–¬ Newpax juweller Mark Wellen, a frequent gambler has been arrested on charges of defrauding The Crown Casino. Authorities say he was caught paying off his gambling debt with fake jewels.
For the past several years he has been visiting Kylmästo at least a dozen times to relax and enjoy his Kylmästian gambling holidays. Wellen, 54, best known for his Newpeace platinum collection, occasionally trades his gambling damages with his ow Newpax jewels.
Three days ago, Wellen inspected the poker table at The Crown Casino in the Eastern shoreline of Eclohringr. Mister Wellen played several tournaments and ended with a loss of K$28 million. Similar to last year’s settlement, he payed the casino with his own items. This time he handed over eight rings of the personal jewel collection of his wife Edith Wellen.
The rings were from his first Newpeace collection, originating from 2002. The reimbursement consisted of platinum rings with opals and spinels. Opals are comparable with snowflakes, no two opals are alike. The magical gemstone can display all colours, spinels are often mistaken for rubies. But these gemstones are more rare than rubies.
The jewels were presented to the casino in a black secured case, by Mark Wellen’s personal Kylmästo assistant. This event took place with the owner of The Crown Casino, Erik Mikkelsen, one hour after Mark Wellen left his poker table. Mikkelsen, 88, and his casino have their own inspection security team to look at the jewellery as the casino does a lot of trades within its walls.
Only two days later head of Security at The Crown Casino noticed the jewels were not what Wellen claimed to be. Immediately thereafter Wellen was taken into custody at his home in Agape. The government of Kylmästo and The Crown Casino have filed a complaint to the Agape District Attorney’s Office and demand Wellen to face his punishment in court.
If convicted and charged guilty, Wellen faces the death penalty for his robbery. Kylmästo has a low crime rate due to the severe punishments. Death penalties are not granted for every crime, the last person who suffered this sanction was Marcus Dutroussen, for kidnapping, raping and killing six Kylmästian girls. This happened over 20 years ago, the judge will have to rule fairly in order to let Wellen take the same punishment.
Authorities are checking all the jewellery he has handed in so far, not only at The Crown Casino, but also The Seaman Casino and The Golden Bird.
The date for the prelimary court hearing has not been set yet, if he pleads guilty or comes to an agreement, the trial will not take a long time. Kylmästian residents as well as the Eclohringr casinos see his action as a threat and demand a just penalty. They will unite the day of the trial to see Wellen take his responsibility and make an example out of him.
